Focus Forward:
Who We ARE:
A Fellowship of Followers of Christ
As described by our fellowship; CPBC is a friendly, loving, caring, encouraging, family of faith where there is doctrinally sound teaching, generous giving, and a missional culture where the gospel is shared here at home and around the world.
(Acts2:41-47; 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13; John 12:34-35; Acts 1:8)
Our Purpose:
Christ For All
This was the motto adopted by our charter members in 1971. It was their desire, and remains ours, to GATHER to Engage God in Worship and His Word and then GO out to Engage ALL the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
(Psalm 150:1-6; Philippians 2:16; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21)
Our Mission:
To Know Christ, Become More Like Christ, & To Make Christ Known (Know-Grow-Go):
It is not a religion; it is a relationship with Father God through faith in Jesus Christ. We live out our lives becoming more like Christ & making Him known.
(Philippians 3:7-14; Ephesians 5:1-2; Matthew 28:18-20)
Our Essentials:
We Must Be...
Centered On The Word (2 Timothy 4:2; Psalm 119:11, 105)
Passionate In Worship (Ephesians 5:18-21; Psalm 150:1-6)
Built Up By Faith (Ephesians 4:11-16; Proverbs 3:5-6)
Cultivate Fellowship (1 John 1:1-4; 1 Corinthians 13:1-4)
After searching the scriptures, hearing from our fellowship, and hearing from our leadership (Deacon Body & Church Council); we are challenged to keep it simple by exemplifying Christ, exercising prayer, investing individuals, and cultivating fellowship.
(1 John 2:16; Romans 8:28-29, 12:1-2; Galatians 5; Hebrews 5)
We are also challenged to keep it real by relying on God’s grace, to do everything in Jesus’ name, to allow the Holy Spirit to work and to love without hypocrisy.
(John 12; Colossians 3:17; Acts 4:31; Romans 7:11) 3:17; Acts 4:31; Romans 7:11)
